Elmira to Face Plattsburgh State in NCAA First Round on Saturday

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's ice hockey team learned who its opponent will be in the First Round of the 2025 DIII women's ice hockey championship, as the Soaring Eagles will travel to No. 8 Plattsburgh State, on Saturday, March 15, for a chance to advance to the Quarterfinals. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
 
The Soaring Eagles punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the 19th time in program history after recording a 1-0 victory on Saturday in the NEHC Championship against Norwich. The title was Elmira's third in four years as a member of the New England Hockey Conference.
 
Plattsburgh State will be making its 20th appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning its first SUNYAC Championship following a 2-0 shutout against No. 5 Oswego State on Saturday. The Cardinals won the SUNYAC title in their second year as a member of the conference after leaving the NEWHL following the 2022-23 season.
