NEHC League Points & Standings Information

The NEHC shifted to a point system beginning with the 2021-22 season.

League standings are based on points earned in league contests. Teams earn three (3) points for a conference victory in regulation, two (2) points for a conference win in overtime, one (1) point for a conference loss in overtime and zero (0) points for a conference loss in regulation.

If a game ends in a tie after the overtime period - both teams are awarded with one (1) point.

Points will determine league standings and seeds for the NEHC postseason tournament.

In the instance of a tie the tiebreakers below (listed in order of application) will be used to determine seeding.

1. Head to head results (if 3 or more teams are tied, take the overall winning percentage against all other tied teams).

2. Total number of regulation wins

3. Total number of overall league wins.

4. Comparison of winning percentage of games against top four league teams.

5. Comparison of winning percentage against top eight league teams.

6. Least goals allowed in league play.

7. League record in last 7 games.

8. Coin Toss.
