BACK-TO-Back: Hobart wins 2nd straight national championship

HARTFORD, Conn.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team defeated third-ranked Trinity 2-0 on the Bantam's home ice to win the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship for the second year in a row. Sophomore Damon Beaver stopped all 25 shots he faced as he recorded his seventh shutout of the season, matching his Hobart season record set last season.

HARTFORD, Conn. - For the second straight year, the Hobart hockey team will skate for a national title. On Saturday, March 23, the Statesmen will take on third-ranked Trinity in Hartford, Connecticut. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Koeppel Community Sports Center.

HARTFORD, Conn.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team scored a pair of first-period goals as it knocked off second-ranked Utica 3-1 at the Koeppel Community Sports Center this afternoon. With the win the Statesmen are 27-2-1 overall on the season and advance to the national championship game for the second straight season.

HARTFORD, Conn. - NCAA Division III men’s head coaches have recognized the top 30 hockey players in their division by selecting them as CCM Hockey/AHCA All-Americans for 2023-24. Five of those players hail from New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) institutions.
Taylor repeats as AHCA Coach of the Year

HARTFORD, Conn. - Mason Family Hobart Head Hockey Coach Mark Taylor was named the recipient of the 2024 Edward Jeremiah Award as the CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Division III Men's Coach of the Year. This is the second straight year Taylor has won the award. He is only the third Division II-III coach to win the award in back-to-back years and the first since Norwich's Mike McShane (1999, 2000) to do it.

Taylor finalist for AHCA Division III Coach of the Year

GENEVA, N.Y. - Mason Family Hobart Head Hockey Coach Mark Taylor was named one of the 12 finalists for the Edward Jeremiah Award given annually to the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year. This is the third straight year and 10th overall time that he has been named a finalist for the AHCA Division III Coach of the Year Award.
Morrissey’s OT tally sends Hobart to national semifinals

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart first-year defenseman Bauer Morrissey scored at the 15:17 mark of the fourth overtime to send the top-ranked Statesmen past 12th-ranked Curry 4-3. The victory secured Hobart a spot in the national semifinals. Hobart is now 26-2-1 on the season. The game was the second longest in NCAA Division III Men's Hockey history checking in at 135:17 minutes.
