GENEVA, N.Y. - Mason Family Hobart Head Hockey Coach Mark Taylor was named one of the 12 finalists for the Edward Jeremiah Award given annually to the NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year. This is the third straight year and 10th overall time that he has been named a finalist for the AHCA Division III Coach of the Year Award.

The winner will be announced Wednesday, March 20, in the lead up to the national semifinals in Hartford, Connecticut.

Taylor, the 2024 New England Hockey Conference Coach of the Year, guided the Statesmen to a 26-2-1 record entering the national semifinals. The 26 wins are second on Hobart's single-season wins list. Hobart went 17-0-0 on home ice this season and set an NCAA Division III record with its 37th straight home victory on Saturday against Curry. The Statesmen captured their third straight NEHC regular season title with a 16-1-1 mark in conference play. Hobart then defeated No. 9 Skidmore 5-0 to claim the second straight NEHC Tournament title. Hobart earned the league's automatic bid, marking its ninth consecutive selection to the NCAA tournament. The Statesmen defeated the Colonels 4-3 in four overtimes, securing their fifth trip to the national semifinals. Saturday's game was the second longest in NCAA Division III history.

Now in his 24th year in charge of Hobart, Taylor has a 404-176-55 overall record. He is just the fourth man to lead the Statesmen and has more wins than all of his predecessors combined. He won his 400th game against Skidmore in the final game of the regular season. Taylor has been named conference coach of the year nine times, he has been tabbed the NEHC Coach of the Year three times and the ECAC West Coach of the Year six times. All 18 of Hobart's All-Americans have come during Taylor's tenure.

Taylor is looking to become the first back-to-back winner of the award since Norwich's Mike McShane in 1999 and 2000.
