NEHC Women's Weekly Honors - Week Seven

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly awards for games played through Sunday, December 10th. William Smith College’s Kelly Howe (Deerfield, Mass.) earned Player of the Week accolades. Norwich University’s Leocadia Clark (Stowe, Vt.) took home Goaltender of the Week honors while New England College’s Alexis Hornsby (Atkinson, N.H.) was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Player of the Week

Kelly Howe - William Smith College
(Sophomore, Forward - Deerfield, Mass.)
Howe recorded her first collegiate hat trick in William Smith's lone game of the week on Saturday. She scored the three goals on just three shots en route to a 4-1 victory over Buffalo State. Howe has nine points on eight goals and an assist this season.

Goaltender of the Week

Leocadia Clark - Norwich University
(Senior, Goaltender - Stowe, Vt.)
Clark backstopped the Cadets to victory in both games of the East-West Classic. Saturday against #4 Plattsburgh State, she made 25 saves. Sunday afternoon against #11 Elmira, Clark made 30 saves in Norwich's second straight overtime victory, earning tournament MVP honors. She finished the week with a .965 SV% and a .96 GAA.

Rookie of the Week

Alexis Hornsby - New England College
(Freshman, Forward - Atkinson, N.H.)

In the Pilgrim’s lone game of the week, Hornsby sparked a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Worcester State. She assisted on two goals to tie it up before eventually scoring the game- winner. The rookie leads NEC in goals and points.

HONOR ROLL

Neris Archambault – Norwich University
(Senior, Defenseman - Pepperell, Mass.)
Archambault’s strong play on the defensive side of the puck was rewarded with offense. The senior defenseman tallied the primary assist of the game-tying goal against #4 Plattsburgh State before tapping home the overtime-winning goal, knocking off the previously undefeated Cardinals. For good measure, she earned a spot on the East-West Classic All-Tournament team for her strong 200-foot play.

Cassie Kelly - New England College
(Graduate, Forward - Alexandria, Minn.)

In New England College’s only game of the week, Kelly tallied two goals, making the difference in a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Worcester State.

Leah White - Johnson & Wales University
(Senior, Goaltender - Hingham, Mass.)
White recorded a .951 save percentage and a 1.73 GAA as the Wildcats went 1-1-0 last week. She opened the week with a 32-save effort in an overtime win at Worcester State on Friday, then turned aside a season-high 46 shots in a one-goal loss to Bowdoin on Saturday.

Kirsten DiCicco - Vermont State Castleton
(Senior, Goaltender - Lowell, Mass.)

DiCicco provided a shutout victory with 18 saves to move VTSU Castleton to the final round at The Bagley Invitational. It was DiCicco's second shutout of the season.
